Housing Program

A Message from Our Director of Housing, Denisse Newell

At Chicano Federation, we believe housing is a fundamental human right — everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. Across our eight affordable apartment communities, we provide housing to more than 500 residents in San Diego — and we go beyond just housing. Through a holistic approach, we offer wraparound support that helps families and seniors thrive. From fresh produce deliveries to diapers, school supplies, and other essentials, our residents know they can count on us when they need it most.

Unlike many housing providers with long waitlists, our process is simple: if there’s a vacancy and you meet the rental and income criteria, you’re in! Workforce & Business Development Program

The Chicano Federations Women’s Small Business Development Program is a childcare training program that provides women with the skills and resources to start a home-based childcare business through an eight-week course that prepares them for the states licensing requirements.

Often, women from diverse communities struggle to find ways to provide for their families and to meet the increasing living costs. At the same time, many parents of young children struggle to find quality affordable childcare. The goal of this program is to provide women with a unique opportunity to start their own business, while helping families in need of affordable childcare.
